Most energy drinks begin the same way: water, then sugar or syrup, then everything else stacked on top. We started somewhere different. COCOFUEL begins with coconut water — and the whole can is built on it.
What coconut water actually is
Coconut water is the clear liquid inside a young, green coconut. It's easy to mix up with coconut milk, so it's worth separating them: coconut milk is pressed from the white flesh and is rich and creamy; coconut water is the thin, lightly sweet liquid that's already there inside the shell. It's what you'd drink straight from a fresh coconut on a hot day.
That's the ingredient — nothing exotic, nothing reconstructed. Just the water from the nut.
The electrolytes it brings with it
The reason coconut water is interesting for a drink like ours is that it doesn't arrive empty. It naturally carries electrolytes — minerals shown in milligrams on a panel — and potassium is the standout, with smaller amounts of others in the mix.
On the COCOFUEL panel you'll see potassium 380mg, sodium 120mg and magnesium 55mg. Some of that potassium is simply along for the ride in the coconut water itself; the rest of the electrolyte profile is rounded out with sea salt and mineral citrates. In other words, building on coconut water means part of the electrolyte story is there before we've added anything.
Start with something that already carries what you want, and you have to add less to get there.
Why we keep it undiluted
Here's the decision we're proudest of, and the one most likely to be quietly skipped elsewhere. Plenty of drinks list "coconut water" and mean a modest percentage, often reconstituted from concentrate and topped up with added water. We went the other way: COCOFUEL is made on 100% coconut water, never diluted. No added water making up the volume, no added preservatives.
That choice costs more and it's harder to do, but it's the difference between coconut water being the base of the can and coconut water being a word on the front of it.
How it tastes
Undiluted coconut water also sets the flavour, and it's not what people expect from the words "energy drink." It's light and clean — subtly sweet from the coconut water's own natural sugars rather than syrupy, and easy to drink cold. There's no heavy, dessert-like coconut hit; it's closer to a fresh, bright refreshment than a piña colada.
Why it pairs with a green-tea lift
Coconut water on its own is a lovely drink, but it won't give you a lift. Caffeine on its own gives you a lift but does nothing for hydration. COCOFUEL's whole idea is to stop making those two separate purchases: a hydrating coconut-water base, plus 80mg of natural caffeine from green tea for a clean, even lift. One can, both jobs.
Made in Australia
COCOFUEL is Australian made, and building on a real coconut-water base is part of why we're happy to put that on the can. It's a formula we can stand behind line by line — which, when the base is the first and biggest thing on the ingredient list, matters more than anywhere else.
That's why the can starts where it does. Everything else — the caffeine, the minerals, the vitamin C, the stevia — is built on top of a base we chose first and refused to water down.
